Braid | Beautiful and Fun?

braid_img Braid | Beautiful and Fun?

I typically don’t talk a whole lot about video game related items on my site, but today I have to make an exception.  I am a huge fan of puzzle games, as well as a huge fan of platform games, and I think I have just found the perfect game that melds those two game types together flawlessly.

Braid is a game that takes my love for those genres and throws them in a gaming blender and mixes them all together.  I am not going to review this game as that takes far too much time, but I do want people that have an Xbox 360 to at least go download the demo for this game from Xbox Live and check it out.

Braid is certainly not for everyone, but if you want a really challenging platform game and puzzle experience, then you will not be disappointed by this little gem.  Did I mention it has a beautiful art style?  Go check it out…

This is just one of those nerdier moments in life when I debate whether or not to promote this video on my blog.  Well, I gave into my better judgement and have decided to throw my nerdy caution to the wind.  This video is hilarious.  Enjoy.  World of World of Warcraft…

Here is my relatively nerdy post for the day, but it sure is funny, and quite perfect to turn your frown upside down.

For the folks who missed Conan’s look at Grand Theft Auto 4, here is a clip from that show.  This is pure comedy genius, whether you like video games or not.  It is just fun to have such a controversial piece of media turned into a laugh inducing parody.  Enjoy.

A New SNES [literally]

snes_controller A New SNES [literally]

People who know me, know for a fact that I do enjoy my video games.  I am “that guy” when friends of mine are looking to try out a new game.  They know that they can just ask me, and I will have them a copy to borrow.

I think one of the things I love about the whole gaming culture is the collecting aspect.  That being said, I have acquired one of the coolest items in my collect as of recent - a brand new Super Nintendo Entertainment System.  When I say new, I mean NEW.  The box has never been opened.  The contents of the box are all still wrapped in plastic and in perfect condition.

Obviously, I will not be opening this little piece of gaming history,  but I have to say, I am very excited to have my hands on this new toy.

Let it be known, that yes, I am in fact a poptechgameculture nerd, but seriously, this SNES is a thing of beauty and I am really happy to have found it.  It will go nicely with my boxed copy of Chrono Trigger.
