As of lately it seems I have been getting a lot of requests for all things website related. From a freelance point of view this is a great thing as building websites tends to make up the larger part of my income. Since websites are such a hot item these days with potential clients, I spend a lot of time talking with them about their wants and needs. My goal in this article is to really break down why Wordpress has been such a great option for the clients I have had thus far, and why it seems to continually be great with new clients. Here is the laundry list of things continue to make Wordpress a great web platform for my clients as well as myself.
Simplicity.
Wordpress is so simple to work with, that I can train a new user to use the backend in half an hour. Not only that, but they are always confident with their new website when I leave. If they can use Microsoft Word, then they can use the editor in Wordpress without any issues at all.
Editability.
Very simply put, my clients want to have the ability to make changes to the website themselves without fear of messing something up. When you get right down to it, I am not in the business of maintaining websites. I want to build the site and be confident turning it over to a new user, knowing that it will have a very simple learning curve.
Reliability.
Wordpress is hands down the most reliable platform I have ever used. I trust it completely when handing over the keys to a clients new website. I am not worried that anything is going to break major components or destroy the layout. Yet, if something does happen to the original state of the site, I know that it is a simple fix away from being back to 100% again. So long as I have things backed up, I have absolutely nothing to worry about.
With the ease of use, and confidence that it brings to users, I know that I never have anything to worry about when I work with Wordpress. It is not just a platform for blogs. It is certainly great for them, but with a little ingenuity, you can create a great content managed website.
Simple to build with. Simple to manage content with. Simple to teach new users. That’s Wordpress.
